![]() Those these quests may seem silly and insignificant, we’d actually highly recommend completing them as they can often lead to new updates, infusions, gear, or even access to a completely new Vigor. Many of them, in fact, will only require you to do something silly like unlock a chest, find a key, or crack a cipher. Side quests in Bioshock Infinite aren’t quite as complicated as you would imagine. You’ll want to keep an eye out for new gear as you explore the alleyways of the city, so be sure to pick up any new gear you come across. Hidden throughout Columbia players can find new gear, like hats, boots, and other pieces that will change their defense, offense, and effectiveness. Unlike previous Bioshock games, which only pushed you towards new weapon, Bioshock Infinite actually includes a gear system, which you’ll need to take pretty seriously. If you’ve ever played an RPG styled game, then you know just how important gear can be. Rooms on the other hand might hold new items, money, and even more lockpicks, so we’d suggest keeping that in mind as you make your way through Columbia. To help you out: safes will only ever hold money, meaning they can be good to pick if you need to stock up on some additional cash. This isn’t a game-breaking issue by any means, though, and you can usually pretty easily decide if things are worth opening up or not. Many times you’re going to need to actually decide whether picking a lock is worth it, as Lockpicks are extremely expensive in the game. While we’ve strongly suggest picking locks in previous Bioshock games, things have changed a bit with Bioshock Infinite. The good news is that Elizabeth will help you scavenge later on in the game, so you won’t have to rely solely upon your own attentiveness to the environment. Scavenging is an extremely important part of the Bioshock lifestyle, and it’s going to be one of the few ways to make sure you have enough money to keep Booker stocked up on ammunition and health. Everywhere you go you’re going to want to keep your eyes open and constantly glancing across the ground and counters. ![]() Playing a Bioshock game is like playing a survival sandbox game.
